I have found that the updates sometimes can bring you some issues never before encountered.
Watch out for that. Is not normal. i do RAM previews all the time with my MacBookPro and HD 1440*1080, not just graphics but footage also.

So you have a monster machine there should be no problems. Check the RAM and Memory usage.
    Make the OpenGL 1/8
Have all the layers in Draft mode. See if it works.
Turn off layer maybe some of them are corrupted.
Save your project onto another disk.

    Maybe these can help.

Well Dave it didn’t work, it is a bug or my computer ran out of memory . I did various test renders at various resolutions, starting a few frames before the error occurs. It doesn’t seem it wants to output to HD. Everything else works fine. Half resolution is the limit, full resolution it just farts. As we say in my country.

Thanks anyways i will try do it at the client office.Otherwise i live as it is. Is a shame. But i have been too long using AE and looking for solutions . i havent encounter such an error before.

    Thanks Edgard

Believe i have tried simple objects, but it wont open. One thing to mention is that the icon from the file is blank, like the OSX doesnt recognized it. The file should have the FBX icon, shouldn’t it?

Well i will give a try tomorrow again.
    Thanks Adam.

Hi >Mathew, well i was a Broadcast Senior Designer for a Spanish TV station, it all depends the tool that they will be using to create these News openers. I recommend you taking a 3d application,a master the creative suite along off course with color composition.
We used VizArtist which is was mainly use because of the interactivity of the application create your design first, animate the design, save the scene and they will launch your animation directly from the control room, i am talking about a fortune application not even close to Maya is a whole hardware and software package.
So my experience in 3d and 2d graphics packages helped me out big time.
But i will recommend getting into After Effects.
    Good luck
