Click and drag it to the Source Monitor. The default action for a sequence is to open in the timeline panel.

Unfortunately, in this instance, WMM is not a good test because it is a native 64-bit application.
Download the trial version of ScLive and test capturing with that to determine if 32-bit apps can successfully capture.

I’m not sure what you mean by that.

CS4 is 32-bit and therefor requires 32-bit drivers, even on a 64-bit OS.

What is unprofessional about nested sequences? They’re very useful and very versatile.

Once you have a video and audio clip synched in a sequence you can use that sequence as a clip in other sequences using nested sequences.
You will also find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.

I suspect there is a mismatch between your clip and your sequence.
1. What is the resolution and pixel aspect ratio (PAR) of your clip?
2. What is the resolution and PAR of your sequence?
3. What resolution and PAR do you select when you export?Cheers
