From PP, I always just right-click on the audio track and choose “edit original”, which allows me to edit the audio in audition, since audition is my default audio app for most formats, such as .wav, .mp3, etc. When I save the changes in audition, the changes are automatically changed in PP audio track. If it were a cut I made in Audition, I make sure in PP that the new length is adjusted there. This is all I know about that. I don’t think I quite understood the last part of your question.

In regards to VST noise reducers in Premiere Pro, there are some filters such as DeNoiser and PitchShifter, etc., that are VST compliant. They are labeled with an ‘AP’ in front, I believe. You will see them under the Audio Effects palette.

Of course, to get the granularity and power, I always go to Audition to remove noise.

    hope this helps,

Maybe I am missing something, but I always like to use AE to do this kind of thing, as I have experienced develish problems (mostly random jitter from photos I edit in photoshop) in the past using Premiere Pro. [I have tried most of the discussed resolutions to photo jitter (jitter that sometimes manifests itself only on an analog TV when the DVD is played), such as deinterlacing, adding a slight blur, flicker removal, etc., but to no avail].

When I use AE to generate an .avi, and import it into PP, I never have to worry about this.

Thus, I vote AE. Others may overrule me.
