I went through the whole system menu and switched up a few things that looked funny, though I don’t know exactly what combo of menu changes fixed it.

I also manually went through FCP’s capture settings and changed them one by one to the DVCPRO HD settings.

The deck was set to 1080 out to begin with.

But thanks for the advice.

yeah, the “SQUEEZE” mode actually looks really good. I have the animorphic adaptor, and I feel that the compromises you have to make when using it, suck so bad that you might as well use the squeeze mode so you can concentrate on your production rather than where you are on your zoom and such. I’ve shot with the Varicam, SDX900 and the SONY 900 all in 24p and obviously the DVX100 squeeze footy is not as sharp, it still looks nice! I check my footy on a 20″ sony CRT, with all the bells and whistles from the component output of a DSR-45, so I’m viewing on a good gear. my 2 cents!
