good news guys –
after trying all these different solutions i think got a fix here..
went into user – library – application support – final cut studio – motion

removed the starglow and shine presets folder (and the starglow log file)
also removed the project folder..(had a few presets in there)

seemed to do the trick!
all the transitions now look fine..no more blue..

im having the exact same issue!! logged in as another user and it seemed to fix it..no more blue transitions!
also tried trashing pref with no avail..any ideas how to get it to work without having to always use another user acct?!
