Yes, it’s actually a replacement for what used to be called the Garbage Mask tool, so, there ya go. I only need it to crop out stuff my green screen doesn’t cover.

I used to use Plural eyes as well, but now it’s easier than ever to sync video and audio files in Premiere Pro. Just choose your video, and your audio, then right click and choose “merge files”. That’s it. WIth Plural Eyes it always created like 4 different clips and things got really messy.
Anyway, you might be light years ahead of me and need the features of Plural Eyes. Otherwise, try my suggestion.

Sometimes when you update Premiere Pro or Red Giant plugins, they don’t appear in Premiere Pro. This gives a simple step by step on how to get PPro to recognize the plugins. For some reason “Ignore” gets turned on (1) and PPro then “ignores” the plugin. By setting Ignore to (0) they will then appear and work properly. Hopefully you won’t need to deal with this nonsense. All I know is I’m glad I bookmarked that page!

That looks like a built in text animation preset in After Effects. I believe you can open that folder in Bridge and look at how each animation works before applying.

Yep. Oddly enough I complained about that a few months ago, and then suddenly I was able to draw two or more masks on one clip and they all worked, and then, just as suddenly, I couldn’t do that anymore.
I think your initial question had to do with normal Premiere Pro mask behavior, not the insanity that I’ve been going through. Yeah, when the masks were working as they should, that rotate tool used to drive me nuts! I’d have the proper tool to adjust a bezier point but just as I clicked it would turn into the rotate tool and rotate my mask, then I’d have to undo and try again. Very annoying.

That doesn’t explain why I never had these problems before. Both tools worked fine up until last week. PLUS, my pen tool changed from being white with black details to black with white details, like a negative of itself. Explain that.
Also, in the Adobe forum you said the solution was to click the + button in the program monitor panel. Sounds to me like you’re just guessing.

AHA! Welcome to MY nightmare! This just started happening to me last week. I eventually had to go back to cc 2015.4. No, it’s not supposed to be that difficult to create and manipulate the mask using the pen tool. It’s just some weird bug that only seems to have affected the 2 of us and two more in the adobe forum. Good luck getting help with a problem no one else is going through. Like I said, my only solution ended up being rolling back to 2015.4
btw, by any chance are you having a problem with your eyedropper tool as well? As far as it picking a color about an inch or so to the right of where you’re trying to pick?

I think you’re all taking my rhetorical question and blowing it out of proportion. I only wanted to know if I can trust the colors as they appear in PPro’s program window to be correct, assuming my monitor was calibrated. That’s all.

ok, so, to summarize, what it looks like in Premiere Pro is what the video actually looks like. If you export the file in a delivery format and play it on a professionally calibrated HDTV it will look exactly as it does in Premiere Pro. Great.
I ask because I’m getting really good skin tones in PPro, but when I play back in VLC or on youtube the tones get a bit pink/reddish.
