The magic box magically appears but instead of exporting a clip with a solid black background it exports a clip with a desaturated green screen in the background.
I think I have to step away from all this for a while. It’s not fun anymore.

I read all that! Where do I render it in RGBA format? I don’t see that anywhere on the Deliver page or in the master settings.
Upon further research I have determined that exporting with an alpha channel is an incredible pain in the ass. I would just do the whole composite in Resolve, but now there’s another headache, masking out just a portion of an image so I can sandwich my greenscreen footage between the two images.

Not this time, Ahlfors!!! I went to the manual. I found page 1213 by searching for “Alpha export”. I already mentioned above what it says. But there is no alpha export checkbox to check. I’ve tried all the codecs except the obvious ones like mp4.

As it happens I tried both! No luck. Also tried AVI and Quicktime.

These guys are extremely helpful. Sometimes a question slips through the cracks. I myself am a rank amateur whose questions should make this forum cringe, but they always get answered fairly quickly and respectfully. I’m sure yours will as well.
I think one of the questions you asked was about what’s called an adjustment layer in Premiere Pro, where you can add a layer and add effects that affect all of the clips in a timeline. I know there isn’t but there’s also a workaround for that. I had asked the same question myself. Of course I’ve forgotten the solution.
Anyway, in the meantime you could try those questions in the manual. Sometimes the answer pops up.

I used to use Premiere Pro but found that I can more finely tune my image in Resolve. Mind you, I’m an amateur and I do this strictly for my own enjoyment, and to keep my 63 year old brain from rotting through misuse.
If you clients are perfectly happy with the work you’re doing for them, stick with Vegas. If you’re looking to challenge yourself and get a more professional looking, cinematic end result, go with Resolve. Like Michael said, it really is up to what your needs/wants are.

Thanks Tero. You just cleared 300 gigs from my source drive! What about optimized files? Were those also stored in the CacheClip folder?
