A link to this story from Dec. 2008 was just posted on another forum. Its subject is Cameraman/Editor Jim Peeler of KWTX-TV in Waco, Texas that uses Vegas Pro 8 with XDCAM.

The latest MacBook Pro DOES have firewire (FW800). The MacBook does not have firewire. You can use a FW 800 to 400 cable for FW400 devices. But, do what I did, I bought the previous generation MBP with a 2.4 ghz processor and a 200gig drive new for $1400. It runs windows XP just great. Look around, I bet you can still find one.

Is home an option with bootcamp? I thought boot camp required XP Pro service pack 2.
