For his Audio/Video Settings in FCP, the Sequence Preset should be “DVCPRO HD – 720p24.” In FCP 5, if that setting is something else, he’d need to render your footage to match the sequence. I believe that changed in FCP 6, so that you can edit different formats on the same timeline.

The easy fix is for him to start a new sequence with the proper preset.

Ahhh… I misunderstood. Yes, when I dig down all the way to the actual download, I see the 1.1.9. Perhaps, since they misspelled, “Manegement,” they actually have an updated file but haven’t marked it as such.

I’m DL’ing now (VERY slow), but so far the file is only labeled, “P2CMSInstaller.zip,” without any indication of version #. They could’ve done better.

I’m using Jeremy’s first link. I’ve copied the first part of the text on the page:
    P2 Contents Management Software
    [Ver.1.2 (for Win) Supported AVC-Intra.]
[Ver.1.2 (for Mac) Supported AVC-Intra. NEW]

New functions Mac Ver. 1.2 (Operation only available on Intel Mac. Not available on Power Mac.)
Compatibility for AVC-Intra. The AVC-Intra decoder must be downloaded separately.
Compatibility for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
Internal DVCPRO HD decoder installed. Allows standard DVCPRO HD viewing.

It then goes on to list all the features. Perhaps try using a different browser – to be sure there’s no residual cache issue.

It seems to be up there now. If you don’t see it, it must be a browser cache issue. You need the Intel Mac, though.

    Wow, Marek – only 10 months for a reply… 😉

I’m also hoping, after that amount of time, that you really know what the part number is and that your question mark was in error.

Thanks for the email update for further parts questions, though.

  • Thanks, Jan (and Noah). It’s good to know all that. I live in such a Mac world that I didn’t know a PC still couldn’t read a Mac-formatted drive. I thought it was all universal now. Doh!

  • Wow – there’s a big relief. I made the call I to the editor. What a non-issue that turned out to be. He really wants to get up to speed on P2 so I’m going to just send him a drive with the footage and he’ll figure out how to import it. Says the local cable channel just got some HVX200’s so he can even check with them if necessary.

Thanks to all three of you for the many suggestions. And Noah, it’s good to see you officially listed as a moderator again. I thought it odd that your picture was gone – you still kept contributing as much as you ever had.
