Hi. Thanks for suggestion. The other day I stepped into the Unreal Engine territory and it looks intimidating. I have some modest experience with 3d animation using DAZ and Cinema4D, but this whole new universe seems too grand for my project. And it looks too heavy for my computer. DAZ offers a lot of 3d assets, so to other websites, so should I go this route I should not have issues finding various props. The real work is the compositing, camera angles, perspectives, lighting etc. That is what expect AI to come to rescue. On FB I saw this guy, Blake Ridder, posts his videos produced with AI in part or in whole and charges $79/mo for teaching it. So it really makes me scratch my head. See the example. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?ref=saved&v=878216351776126

  • Hi, Thank you for sharing your experience. I think it boils down to a) finding the right AI, and there 100s of them around and b) master the art of writing prompts. I experimented with AI, both stills and video, the result was often unpredictable, but I managed to achieve something that worked for me. But I am still not sure if current AI video editing would allow me to compete a full, albeit short, production, or I am limited to 5-10 secs. Would I be better off shooting with a chroma key screen? That will influence my decision.

I got it now! I see you used a reversed page Turn animation for blinking, a Bulge, Vector Blur and some Scaling. Very clever! Thank you so much again!

Thank you so very much! Unfortunately, I cannot see the project file as I am using an older version of AE, 18.4.1

Amazing job! Thank you for investing your time into it. I could work on the “blinking” bit, but that is a good starting point. Any tips on the workflow?

Wow! That is VERY close. I could work with the “blinking” bit, but otherwise looks good to me. Will you share a tip of how you did it?

Well, this old war movie comes to mind as the closest to what I am looking for.. As you can see there is some warping and haze going on. I would add some “blinking” with each blink teh image getting more blurred and distorted.

Good idea. Only I may spend a lifetime trying to find an episode in the ocean of movies.

Hi. That is awesome! It may work for a scene when a character is hit and instead of water there would be blood. However, it is not really I am aiming for. I imagine thee is some “water tank filling up” and getting hazy until the first blink and then every blink the image gest warped. I think that how it works when someone cries.

    Hi,

I don’t have a clip yet. I am trying to think ahead if I will need to implement that physically, e.g. Vaseline over a camera lenses, or in post. But thanks for offering to teach me the trick. Do you happen to have an example?
