I agree with Mike. Sound speed is slow (roughly 1,126 ft/s) compared to what the cameras are capturing and if you have the line feed it is what is going to likely be most in sync with video.

Yeah, I think I missed some of those details.

Anyone tried the ‘Catalyst Edit’ and care to comment on it?

    Hi Thayalan,

I am running the GoPro Studio SW to convert GoPro native files to CineForm AVI files on my Vegas Pro 13 machine with no issues.
There is a GoPro ‘importer’ app that runs at start up that I ‘exit’ manually after booting up since I don’t use it.

    Hi John,

Thanks for the clarification with scaling issue.
No 4k in my house so no worries there.
I was not the originator of the question, but have recently added an AMD R9 290x to my system — so the word ‘issues’ in your response to lucas caught my eye.

    Hi John,

To what ‘scaling’ issue are you referring?

October 18, 2015 at 4:06 pm in reply to: SVP 13 is not importing full clips

What kind of clips are they?
What does mediainfo report them as? (mediainfo)

And if the fps of the clip was greater than your project, you would reduce the playback rate in the properties not increase it. (.25 instead of 4?)

I don’t monkey around with renaming dll’s so I can’t comment or help you there.

I believe Vegas will always play clips at the Project speed not the fps of the clip. I discovered this when using SloMo from iPhone (120fps) which did not play slow in Vegas unless you modify the playback speed of the clip/event by changing the Properties of the event.

October 12, 2015 at 2:17 pm in reply to: Creating straight shapes with masking tool

My copy of Vegas 11 is no longer installed, but I did open Vegas 10 and I do see that features in the mask tool have evolved and changed in later releases (including the ability to add a square/rectangle and circle/oval presets in later versions).

I can confirm that in Vegas 10, at least, it is quite difficult to create a rectangular mask.
