January 28, 2009 at 6:46 pm in reply to: Is ther a way to know which effect support Opengl?

Thanx guys for the help here
the reason i want to know which effect is supported by opengl is not that when im working on a project design it acording to what supported or not rather its to use render and preview faster so for instance lets say i want a quick wmv for a client to see the animation with 3d and lights i can do it fast using the opengl so to use it i need to switch off some of the effects and not all of them
p.s darby if you find that list please post it here
    thanx again

    Hi again
    thats not what i meant
what i meant was how can i tell what effects in AE support Opengl
like glow is not supported and it slows down the preview

    Thanx for the reply grant
well after playing a bit with 3D scenes it runs much better with the Opengl on then the adaptive resulution
and on other scenes its the other way arround
Quadro video cards are more expensive and as you say Opengl doesnt work that good so there is no need to pay more then what i have now
but i can get a different card in the same value of this one
i red here about radeon X1950 is it better then the one i have now?
or should ill stay with what i have
    thanx

    Thanx man
what are my options if i dont wanna change to 64 bit?
i mean why after using the /3GB switch ae showed me 3GB but when i tested the rendering time it was the same as before
is it just showing 3GB but because its not using 100% so its the same as before?
i mean using lets say 60% of 2GB or using 40% of 3GB
is it normal that the rendering timr are the same???

    Thanx for the reply
i already red these posts i did a search and i also wrote that i tried the boot.ini and it did showed me 2% of 3GB on startup i thought this is good for AE 7 and CS3 suppose to use up to 3GB without the use of the boot.ini change
also when i tried to render a project before changing the boot file and after changing i get the same render results not even a second faster.
    anything else im missing?
i need to change also something in the prefrences inside AE?
im supposed to see the render results faster right?
    thanx again
