January 26, 2009 at 3:20 pmThanx for the reply
i already red these posts i did a search and i also wrote that i tried the boot.ini and it did showed me 2% of 3GB on startup i thought this is good for AE 7 and CS3 suppose to use up to 3GB without the use of the boot.ini change
also when i tried to render a project before changing the boot file and after changing i get the same render results not even a second faster.
anything else im missing?
i need to change also something in the prefrences inside AE?
im supposed to see the render results faster right?
thanx again -

January 26, 2009 at 6:35 pmIt’d would be better if you move to a 64-bit OS rather than tweaking the .ini file.
By using XP Pro x64 or Vista X64, AE by default will us 4GB of ram and any extra ram will be kept of the system or any other app. And actually this is better since XP 32-bit can’t handle more than 4GB of ram at anytime.
Also in AE CS4 you can choose how many cores and memory will be dedicated for AE rendering, which is great in quad core configurations with +4GB of ram.

January 26, 2009 at 10:41 pmThanx man
what are my options if i dont wanna change to 64 bit?
i mean why after using the /3GB switch ae showed me 3GB but when i tested the rendering time it was the same as before
is it just showing 3GB but because its not using 100% so its the same as before?
i mean using lets say 60% of 2GB or using 40% of 3GB
is it normal that the rendering timr are the same??? -

i just got more Ram from 2GB to 4GB so i tought i should see improvment in speed in rendering but its not
so whats the best results i should see when increasing the Ram?
thanx
