The piece I was missing was the 8-bit part …my files were RGB 16-bit. Once converted, they imported and updated in a civilized manner.

Thank you. (Nobody on the Adobe Premiere Pro forum could figure that one out)

    Benjamin Ahr Harrison…
Sounds like you’ve solve the problem I’m currently having.
I’m going to uninstall and reinstall AME – but could you clarify “…anything that looked like Adobe background software?”
Not to sound ignorant, but what would that look like?

  • Thank you, Alex.
This is what you’re describing, is it not?

  • I created this as a new project in CC 2015, imported footage from three cameras, created the multicam sequences, then saved and closed the project.

When I opened the project again – two days later – to begin my edit, the audio in just one of the sequences had this left-channel defect. I corrected the problem using the Audio Clip Mixer and saved the project. After restarting the computer, the audio for all three cameras was once again all playing in the left-hand channel.

[I also captured separate audio from the house P/A system – imported, and synched it manually. This track (#7), as you can see in my screen capture, is displaying and playing properly.]

  • Thanks, Ryan…
Tried Option 1 with no improvement, but Option 2 seemed to do the trick!
Perhaps it was the combination of both, since I didn’t try the “Software Only” option before I updated to 10.9.4 …either way, looking good.

Thanks… I had been hoping to do it without math (and in the process, create a custom conversion in Compressor that would work with every video for this client). I guess I’ll have to earn my money the old-fashioned way – with math, rather than a check-box.
