If your friend has a copy of DiskWarrior ask him to try that. Anything that will help rebuild or reconnect the directory with a missing file would help. This is essentially what DiskWarrior does but that’s an oversimplification.
In the future you can recommend that FAT32 not be used for a hard drive that’s being delivered to a client. Format the FAT32 drive in NTFS instead, then get Paragon Software’s “NTFS for Mac” which will enable the Mac user to read and write to an NTFS disk. Since I’ve never had any luck with FAT32 formatting with a Mac being reliable I’ve gone the NTFS route for some time now and have never had an issue with my Windows clients.

In the CAMERA SET menu is the Flicker Reducer set to “ON” or to “AUTO”? if it is then turn it off.

Not that I know of. The first place I checked was Vortex Media and I didn’t see anything for either the 320 or the 350. I also just phoned my local Sony broadcast supply place and they don’t know of anything, although they’re gong to check around.

Okay, I tried to duplicate your “Cannot Proceed” issue by trying various things but I was still able to get the S & Q button to light up every time. So go to the OTHERS menu and hit RESET ALL at the top of the list. Then go through the procedure once more. See if that solves it. BTW, after hitting RESET ALL you’ll have to input your date and time again (I think).

To set up for overcrank (slow-motion):
- 1. Go to the OTHERS menu and choose HD/SD Mode: make sure it’s set to HD
- 2. Go to the OTHERS menu and choose Video Format: HQ 1280/30p
- 3. Go to the CAMERA SET menu and choose: S & Q Motion: choose HQ 1280/30p and frame rate 60
- 4. Exit the menu and press the S & Q button on the left side of the camera. Choose Yes on the screen.
- 5. You’ll notice that now your audio meters have a slash through them. Now you’re ready to shoot.

If the S & Q button on the left side of your camera is active (blue light) the Interval and Frame record menu items will be greyed out.

You can see your clips with Sony’s Clip Browser software. It’s free and you can find it here:

Put your BPAV folder inside another folder. Name it anything you want. Start Clip Browser and navigate to your named folder. The program will “see” the BPAV folder inside your named folder and the clip icons will appear in the Clip Browser window. If you just want to see your clips right from the SxS card while it’s still in the camera use Clip Browser to navigate to it.

Me too. Several email requests, in fact. I’ve always been happy to help because the requests haven’t been overwhelming so far. I did get a phone call out of the blue from Texas not too long ago. The person was a relatively active forum participant at that time. What I disliked about the call more than anything was that the person kept asking me to “hang on a sec” which lasted many seconds while they kept issuing instructions via two way radio. I suspect this person was some sort of dispatcher.

Check out CatDV, which is a logging and media organizing program. Folks who use it rave about it so it’s worth a look. CatDV is cross-platform and there’s a forum right here at CreativeCOW.

I think the viewer is the only place to do sub frame audio editing.
