I think AE CS5 does have some memory issues. For instance, I cannot use an external keyboard with my MacBook Pro (with 6 GB memory) running AE CS5. I have allotted 3gb for AE and 3gb for “other programs”. That should be sufficient to allow keyboard drivers to work. However, after working for a few minutes, the keyboard disappears and I no longer get any response from the keys. I can only use the laptop’s keyboard with any certainty.

I had a similar problem with a ShuttleProV2. When it “disappeared” I used System Preferences/About this Mac… etc. and that seemed to “wake up” the memory…

Any resolution to this on-going problem? It cropped up for me and I fixed it using the replacement of DesktopVideoout.component as indicated in another COW post. That seemed to work fine for months.

Now, the problem is back again. I can play the same res file directly in QT with no problem, but in FCP7, I get weird horizontal scanning problems almost like a rolling shutter in the Canvass and when going full screen.

Has Apple weighed in on this anywhere?

… but I keep getting the Software Update notice to install Pro Apps 2009-01 again. Has anyone figured out how to turn off the notification?
