September 7, 2007 at 4:17 pm in reply to: Software for audio file merge?

I’m a editor running FCP, and generally do my audio edits inside of FCP. Maybe I should have mentioned that before. But FCP dosen’t offer any batch processing for audio files….so I’m looking for some software that does.

Thanks for all the help. I think a animated mask along with some composition work later on will get rid of the sizzle. I color corrected first to even out the greenscreen. The lighting was a bit off, so the Color application really did a nice job of isolating the areas I wanted to adjust. After that, I got an awesome key with little effort, so I don’t think it was all for nothing. The metal is proving to be tricky, but with a spill supressor, it’s looking good.

Thanks for all the help, the Cow rocks!

Dave’s approach seems to be like a good starting off point, I’ll try that next. Below is the screen grab. I have adjusted the grade in Color to get a more uniform green for the key. Once I get a good key, I plan on color correcting the footage again to match the composition. The “sizzle” is happening underneath the bike. Let me know what you think.

    To all posters,
Thanks for the input on this topic. Just another example of how the COW is the definitive source for all things creative. Your advice will be followed very closely.

Does the LHe card offer the same specs(upconvert SD to HD, etc.) as the Kona 3? The AJA Kona 3 sounds wicked, but I think it may be a bit out of my price range.

Everything sounds great about AJA, especially the tech support.

What type of machine would be ideal for this card? I’m running G5s at my shop, any specs that would make capture process a bit easier?

Keying, color correcting, and compositing are all going to be a large part of this project. I have DVCPro tapes that we need to capture, and work like to capture in true HD. Figuring that this type of work will come up again, it’s probably more effective than farming out the work to a production house.

Would capturing to a Raid drive be as useful as several drives?

Thanks for the detailed response, you rawk!

I’ve heard about the AJA products and how nice they are, but… a card such as this blackmagic card be just as good?

Obviously the pricing is extremely different, but would a high end card versus a card like this make a differnce if they both offer 10-bit SDI uncompressed video capture.

Thanks for the info and advice guys! I’m based in a smaller city, where the amount of editors is scarce. But this info is good, gives me some insight on what approach I need to take.

Thanks for the advice, I don’t think the project’s budget is big enough for the software, so I’ll go for a stylized approach.

Thanks Steve, I may try something with CC Particle World, although I can already see the results won’t be anything amazing.
