sorry — this is dumb — but how do you unlink the stereo clip into dual mono?

Thanks — that sounds good/easy — is there a way I can have the subject walk around and still have his face glow? In other words, do I have to individually mask every frame or is there another, easy way to have the mask perfectly go with the part of the face I want?
