  • sam.mltn, sorry you lost sleep over it, but I’m glad it was you found it exciting enough to give up a nights rest.

  • I’m not aware of any plugins that can do this. Thats not to say they don’t exist, I’ve just not heard of any. I tried to be both concise yet maintain clarity, that doesn’t always work for evereyone who might read a tutorial especially one with expressions. I would be happy to try and give more clarity to particular conceerns if you would like to post them.

yikesmike – I’m glad you like it. I will be monitoring this thread so if there are any questions just let me know.

BausDTown – Unfortunately, I can’t help translate. Hopefully someone will be able to help; possibly Mylenium? If there is anything else I can help with let me know.

    Thanks

I have submitted a tutorial to the Cow which shows how to create ribbons of text flowing through 3D space. It should be posted soon and with it you should be able to do what you want to do. As it is not posted yet, I hope you understand, I cannot give specifics in this post.

After Effects doen’t import actual files in just references them, so if you move folders AE doesn’t know where the reference has gone. You can right click one of the “missing” items in the project window and choose replace footage then navigate to the new location of that item then click it and click open. If all the “missing” files are in the same location AE will automatically load them. If not then you need to repeat this procedure for each different location.

Glad you had a chance to check back. I am putting final touches on the tutorial text and just shot some green screen footage to use in the demo movie for the tutorial. I hope to submit it later this week.

I have had some luck with the exploding text and will share the expression code with you when I get it finalized. It may however require adjustment to suit your particular needs, but the good news it it can be done in AE.

If I underestand your problem, try this. Create the solid, turn on its 3D switch. Create a motion path including movement along the z axis. You want the motion path to follow the angle of the tunnel. Right click the layer in the timeline and select auto orient: orient along path. Rotate the y axis 90 degrees. Precompose the layer and choose move all attributes to a new composition. In the new composition turn on colapse transformations, now add the echo effect and adjust its setting to what you want.
