Alright, I did one more test and I think this is the way that I’ll do it.

During transcoding from the Compact Flash card I will have my Camera 1 60FPS footage from the 7D transcode to 30FPS.

Then Ill have my camera 2 30FPS footage transcode at the native frame rate of 30FPS.

Any problems with this work flow?

    Thanks for the help!

I did a test by taking the 30FPS footage and in MpegStream Clip, before I transcoded it, I set it to 60FPS and it seems to look fine.

Will I have any problems with this workflow?

I guess the only bummer that I have to deal with is any motion in the foreground and background is very crisp because of the 60FPS so there isnt much motion blur like when shooting with 30FPS.

    Live and learn I guess…

Thanks for the reply Rob and Bret, I totally forgot to mention an important part.

We had another 7D shooting angle 2 but it was set to 30FPS.

Is there anything I can do to work with both of these cameras so that neither appears slow mo?

Thanks Dave. I just turned off multiprocessing and all is well. I guess I need to wait till I get more ram. Thanks again!

Thanks for the reply. After checking out your answer I decided to try a different Easy Setup. I was able to successfully capture but I’m not sure if it’s the right size.

It’s capturing at 720×480 which we know is SD. Is that because I shot on MiniDV? I was expecting HD res and HD 1080i files. How do I get the 1080i HD footage off this tape?

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for the reply!

They thought they had the right camera to do it themselves but they were wrong. They have an older MiniDv camera but it can’t read these tapes because of the HD recording (which is what they wanted).

Ok thanks all! Looks like everything ended up working out in the end.

I just used the FILE> EXPORT TO AVI and that worked. The render queue option is no longer available which I still think is weird.
