I’ve had a couple of first and last times with P2 and Avid. It’s nothing short of a nightmare. Before you drag your files into the MXF folder on your media drives, make sure you color code them, so you can delete them later. P2 Media, in my experience doesn’t get referenced to a specific project, so you have to be really careful not to delete the media when pulling up Media Tool, due to the fact that P2 media will come up in EVERY project when Media Tool is launched.
P2 is a great idea in theory, but avid honestly doesn’t do nearly as well with P2 as final cut does, and that’s saying a lot, as i’m not a big final cut fan. I’ve learned my lesson, and will steer clear of P2 until it’s as easy to use as it is in final cut, as well as being able to mix 720 media with SD media. Until then, tread VERY lightly. it’s a pretty rough wrestling match to get it to work perfectly. It’s a shame too, ’cause for the price, P2 looks really nice.

Trapcode also makes a plug-in that does cool stuff to line masks. Might check that out.

I’ve run into the same error. I have a 108 layer Illustrator file that i’ve been animating for the last 4 days. It’s almost all gone now. Anything that’s vector based has disappeared. Is this a common issue in AE7?
