Hi Tim – I have been experimenting with the ProRes422 clip from Convergent Design, since I would like to buy the Odyssey 7Q for 4K shooting with my Fs700, or as Phillip Bloom recommends taking the 4K output from the 700 and recording ProRes 422 for “stunning” HD. I downloaded the clip and brought it into a (Premiere CC2014) RED4K sequence and it looks of course awesome. I then brought it into an AVCHD 1080p sequence to see how it looked scaled out — fabulous. However, despite having 2 Quadro 4000 Nvidia cards (windows 7) I do get the yellow render line… which is okay, but when rendered, the clip shrinks down to about a quarter size in the 1080 sequence…? In Sequence Settings, I am still only offered I-Mpeg 1920×1080. I don’t understand why the reg HD sequences render out less than full image size. I can’t seem to find the render setting allowing for a 4K image scaled down within reg HD. Does this make sense?

There doesn’t seem to be a solution for us Windows users who would like to use ProRes422. Thoughts?

    Thank you,
    Diane

Thanks John – I will do that, and look into Acronis. I have heard of that. So do you use the Media Manager?

Thanks Dave – I know your name from the Ed*t forum. I had thought I’d get that answer. I continue to marvel at the AVID, Apple and Adobe presentations during NAB shows- how they offer ‘new’ features we ed*tors have been used to for five years.
    Thanks,
