Sorry to hear about your troubles too. I had this same problem at my former place of employment (with the monitor). I think my current issue is due to a really old and corrupt computer. Good thing I have a brand new G5 that I am currently in the process of switching to.

I hope you get your problem figured out and if I discover anything I’ll let you know.

That’s another strange thing. When I select image+wireframe, I get a still frame in the viewer of the video but it still won’t play. When I go back to image only, it just goes to black or gray.

It’s not just the frozen canvas, it’s the fact that I don’t see video in the viewer either. I never changed my settings. My sequence and my media are both DV NTSC. Can FCP just change settings on its own?

I’m using a Mac OS Extended hard drive with 234GB of space. I don’t know the codec Final Cut is using but we are using P2 and MiniDV media, DV-NTSC. The sequence settings are: 720X480, NTSC (3:2), 29.97.

What I do know is it worked one day, and didn’t work the next and I didn’t change anything.
