That does help, thank you. I’m going to try that and see what happens.

Do I even need to create new UHD MXF media? What if I bring his sequence online with the AMA linked files?

    Hi thanks for responding!

Yes the clip is 1080i. It was shot on a XL H1 in HDV 24f mode. When I move frame by frame though the clip i get 2 interlaced, 3 progressive frames repeating, at least I think thats what I’m looking at. 2 fields are mixed together in the ‘interlaced’ frames, no fields mixed in the ‘progressive’ frames. Not really sure what to call it. sorry

It was captured in one cilp for the whole tape, through a Motu V4 HD box – (https://www.v4hd.com/) converting the HDV signal to DVCPro HD at 29.97fps.

    Thanks

April 8, 2009 at 1:22 pm in reply to: AJA ioHD or Motu V4HD?

You have been using it? I have a question for you then. I just rented the unit to capture Canon HDV 24f footage shot on a XL h1. The video is ok but the audio never matches!!! I’ve been up all night trying everything I know and just random stuff.
The audio is out of sync, and how do I know its converting the 23.976 24f to what I want. When I put it in Format and Gen lock it tells me to do 1080i 29.97, but I know it has to be 3:2 converted. Can’t I just capture it in 23.976?
    Do you have any suggestions?

I have a Macbook Pro Dual 2.5 Intel. FCP 6.05, a Canon Xl H1 connected via SDI and XLR, and the MOTU V4HD connected to the computer with FW800.

Thank you for your time, any suggestions would be useful

I just rented the MOTU V4 box.
I have a MACbook Pro, and I’m trying to capture HDV 1080i 29.97 native footage that was shot in Canons 24f format.
The issue is that we have, 4 audio tracks on the tape. And the only reliable way to get them is through 3rd party hardware. I was going to use the AjA io HD box because I’ve had a few good experiences with it and Sony’s XD CAM. But I couldn’t find it, rented the V4 instead.

My bran new Intel 2.5 Core 2 Duo just can’t handle the processing load. so every time I capture something its wrong. I’m also converter to Apple Pro res in real time. Anyway, if you want audio, great it seems to handle that well but if you have any video, stay away.
