February 26, 2008 at 2:07 pm in reply to: Bug Alert – Levels change on freeze frame.

    Hello Andy,

Just thought I would say I am with you on this one. Have been a long time Media100i editor and regularly would export freeze frames using the Media100i codec and re-import them into the same video clip as fixes for masking booms etc with no problem. Since owning the first version of Media100HD onwards I have noticed that the exported frames are always darker as you say. Hope someone comes up with a solution for this as it is such a useful editing tool.
    Regards,

    Derek.

Your right, and that’s what I’m doing – I’m exporting to an ucompressed Quicktime codec which then can be opened in Episode Pro. Obviously this is not ideal due to the extra time taken to export and more importantly the huge file size I’m creating because I can’t export by ref.

The programme type is PAL SD 16:9 using the 10bit uncompressed Media100 HD codec.

    Thanks again,

    Derek.

Well, I have dragged a Media 100 HD codec captured clip (SD 10bit uncompressed) into Episode Pro and found that I can’t open that either! (in Quicktime/Cleaner no problem). Meanwhile I have some offline Media100i clips (captured at 100kb) which Episode opens up / encodes with no problem. I fear the problem lies with Episode not recognising the Media100 HD codec, although previous posts suggest that it is possible to work with Episode Pro / Media 100 HD when avoiding the M100 black clips? Still confused! Any thoughts? Thanks,

    Derek.

Thanks for your response, I have tried creating new timelines with just one or two clips and exporting from ranges within one clip – still doesn’t seem to work (with no black clips or gaps in the timeline). I must be doing something wrong! All suggestions appreciated – thanks.

    Hello Frederic,

Am not familiar with FCP TC Generator but can explain how to put timecode on screen using Media100. Have a look at this post I made a couple of years ago:

    https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/4/855441

Hopefully you have Boris to do it – good luck,

    Derek.

Are you refering to creating a BITC track (timecode in vision ontop of the movie)? If so then there is an option in Boris to create timecode, but you would have to render it first of course.

I think you will find the latest Media100 offerings at Broadcast Live from Cypher AMS (Stand C45 I think) – ask for Daniel:

    https://www.cypherams.com/

I’m going on to try and be there on the 21st. Cheers,

October 7, 2006 at 8:52 pm in reply to: Cleaner 6.5.1 update!

Just installed OS 10.4.7 on my quad PPC (non intel mac) and the Cleaner 6.5.1 update worked just fine. It didn’t work when I tried to install it on my dual 2.7 with OS 10.4.5 – so if you haven’t already, update your OS to use the Cleaner update.
    Regards,

    Hi there,

Have the same problem myself, the ‘readme’ file on the Autodesk site suggests that you need specifically OS 10.3.9 or 10.4.7! Don’t know if this is relevant to you or the install problem, but the 10.4.7 update is for intel based macs – may have something to do with compatablity with non-intel macs? Probably just an Autodesk unreliable software problem! Anyway, let us know if you get anywhere with your enquiries – I think this subject is relative to this forum as most Cleaner users I know are Media 100 users as well!
