Wait- FREE ProRes? How did they pull this off? Doesn’t ProRes need to be licensed from Apple?

  • I bet PPro CS6 on that system will be incredible!

If anyone from Apple tries to hijack this meet-up of yours, don’t let them… 😉

(Bill Davis) “Now if someone will just mention nazis – then we’ll have achieved the perfect trifecta of dumb newsgroup arguing.”

I know I’m probably better off staying out of this sort of thing, but I just couldn’t resist this one…

Sorry to hear about that… I agree with Tom though, it’s probably not fair to put all the blame on Premiere- between the WMVs and duplicate file names, and considering the hastily-thrown-together nature of the thing, it really sounds like a less-than-ideal situation…

Hey Daniel- Out of curiosity, how’s your project coming along?

“Do we expect Adobe to premiere Premiere at NAB?”

    Yes.

Premiere Pro is on a 24-month upgrade cycle, and CS5 was introduced at NAB 2010. CS5.5 was introduced at last year’s NAB. And Adobe has said that CS6 would be out “in the first half of 2012”.

  • “Not an either/or really. It’s for those with RED Epics shooing a mountain of funny cat videos.”

That reminded me of the John Adobe video-

“Now I can edit my home movies in 4k!”

    🙂

  • “I read that and thought it was odd. I don’t know of any significant consumer Thunderbolt products.”

LaCie has a hard drive based on Thunderbolt, which is neither consumer or pro if you think about it. It could be used to store and play back footage from a RED Epic shoot, or it could also be used to quickly back up a mountain of funny cat videos…
