Agreed. Parallels or Fusion are emulators and suck your performance out of the CPU. Bootcamp turns your Mac into a PC. It’s great.

Two quick points
– In Premiere Pro anything can be a ‘camera’ including a sequence of clips

I haven’t tried with Motion 5, but I have actually imported a Motion project into Premiere Pro. You might experiment and see what happens.

I understand why you might think that, but let me encourage you to tackle it. The surface of AE isn’t that difficult, but the fun is when your brain ‘clicks’ and gets it. Then you usually can’t stop. From a business point of view, AE is a major player and it can be another nice item on your list of tools for prospective clients.
It’s not that hard – it’s a matter of perspective. Most of the non-audio types here would look at Digital Performer and walk away, but it’s natural for you because you understand the concepts. Same idea with AE (or Motion for that matter).

Yeah. I’m not sure what GoPro is going to do with it, but I wish them all possible success and Cineform is an available DI codec for use within Adobe, Apple and Avid products.

If you have FCP installed on your Mac, Premiere Pro can export to all flavors of ProRes without difficulty.
On the larger philosophical side, I agree that there are workflows where a DI codec would be handy for Adobe to have.

Nothing is forever, but I can’t see that happening when the news on Adobe has been 45% growth on the Mac market.

Let me make an attempt at an analogy: Like Steve Jobs did with OS9 to OS X, we did with Premiere to Premiere Pro. Back in the day Steve said that OS9 was getting old and that OS X was the future. He admitted there would be some transition problems, but overall it went smoothly. For Adobe, Premiere came to version 6.5 and we needed a new architecture. We knew it would have some transition problems. At that time, with limited resources and more of our market on the PC, we made the choice to do Windows only initially to get the massive re-write and new architecture done. We added more features in Premiere Pro 1.5 and 2.0 and then beginning in CS3, we went back to the Mac which is about 5 years ago (or more).
I can’t comment on Framemaker as I simply know nothing about it.
Everyone who is considering a switch to something other than FCP will have to weigh the pros and cons of their choices. I wish I could say I have everything that ANYONE could need, but I don’t. Adobe and others have good products – one should definitely work for you.

To all – I do monitor these forums almost daily (except when I’m traveling) and I’m passionate and competitive, I will always try to keep everything above board and classy. Tim’s right, I generally keep my comments and responses confined to Adobe type questions or ones of workflow. Some things I completely steer clear of (like dissecting who really has the most seats of NLE’s installed)… 😉

Because it doesn’t – Apple’s just too big and I think we all know the their ProApps division isn’t anything close to their i-fill-in-the-blank division.
