Are you using Gridiron Flow? Did you repair permissions? Check your java preferences. I am running with J2Se 5.0 32 bit at the top of the stack. The only problem I have is when I start Flow Then CatDV runs out of memory. And it is usually a hang.
Do you have a website? I will need a contact in Katmandu in the future.

You guys need to do a video mixdown and then with that on the top track, or even better, a fresh sequence, export that as a QT reference. The problem arises when you have one clip, even one frame of a different resolution or codec on your timeline; quicktime gets confused. Sometimes I have not been able to even find the culprit because it could be as simple as a PAL 4:2:0 sequence with 1 title in 4:1:1. Mixdown always solves QT reference problems for me, so it just became part of my workflow eons ago. If they fixed this, I will never know, I guess.

Possible with a camera or VTR attached to firewire. But not with MC 7.2. Isn’t that an old version from the Mac only days about 11 years ago?

Are you going digital or analog audio to Dbeta? Do you hear it when monitoring the output of the VTR, the Avid or both? What happens if you try to digital cut only audio with video off?
I’d check my reference to the VTRs and the Avid. WHen you are using digital cut to output, the system is checking for a common sync reference and that may be the difference between playing the timeline and using the output tool.

Because had Avid done this 5 years ago, today they would own the market that is now owned by Apple. They will never get it back.
In my opinion, now all Avid is doing is milking blood from a stone by selling MC for less, but still far more than FCP with a complete studio package. I am doubting that you will see much more development on the MC side other than keeping pace with hardware and OS compatibilities. I say that because Avid canned most of their editing product development team. Some now work for Apple. Everything Avid gets out of the MC line from this point forth is gravy. I do reserve the right to be wrong, but I think MC will go the way of Media 100 before long.
I was hardcore Avid since 1993. Today, I am using Final Cut Studio and a little Premiere. I still prefer Avid for speed, but the value and interoperability in FC Studio is hard to pass by. Anyone who knows me may well say that the day Dennis drops Avid, watch for the nails to start being driven into Avid”s coffin. Ask Ron Lindeboom – no one believed in and was as passionate about Avid as I was. Then one day I just went silent on this board because I had nothing more to say. The honeymoon was over with my beloved Avid.
I sold my last Avid system off exactly one year ago, almost to the day. Last year they had nothing to show new at NAB in the MC XPro lines and this year…need I say more? It does sadden me because Avid used to have a cutting edge product and a great development team. The company’s focus has changed.
There is always hope that NAB will bring an exciting announcement, but I am not holding my breath.

If you are looking for the Mac version, look here for 7.1.2
https://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/7964
You are better off with 7.1.2. Fewer bugs. But good luck if you are trying to install over a newer verison. I could not do it. Need to go back to your install disks.

Hey Cathy,
Somehow I missed that ad campaign. I am actually a Toronto boy myself (West end). Home base is Halifax now (between trips to Russia) and the family loves it, but I try to get back to Toronto once or twice a year. It’d be great to have a coffee and exchange war stories some time. From what I read in your profile, we are both Boomers. If you are the Cathy G. in the ODC, I can find you through there. I am in the ARC.
