Maybe this Forum should be named “FCP X baseless bashings for PPro fanatics”

Like anything, I think the 3D Text will be of real value in the TV broadcast work I do… again subtlety is key…
A nice sit down interview, with a nice depth-of-field name-strap placement using the Z-axis for example with this new text feature…will work well.
I know Fox Sports here in Australia use a lot of similar techniques here:
Again, Aindreas takes to the task of bashing FCPX with a sledgehammer without any real respect for the detailed analysis of the features added.

Of course Aindreas…
After you assumed that the FCPX Hollywood Movie was deemed vapourware and as we Aussies say ‘Bulldust’…
…you now decide to tear apart the subsequent, released movie that you railed against as non-existent!
LOL
I dig your edit chops and your wily sense of humour… but I have one question for you:
“Why have you invested so much time… deriding FCPX?”
I mean… aren’t we all creatives? Don’t we delight in producing positive content?
😛

It is fun to read and have a giggle at – however…
🙂
The core question is – *why* have you invested so much time in a ‘FCPX or not’ Forum – otherwise?
Morbid curiosity? Officially designated representer of the Worldwide Track-based Editors guild?
😉

Tim’s comment is absolute garbage, a generic, presumptious statement.
I know of countless people using FCPX for National Broadcast work – including I.
Why do I bother with this forum…

December 13, 2014 at 5:29 am in reply to: FCPX 10.1.4 – MXF Export & XDCAM optical deliveryGood news… on the XDCAM Optical COW forum, Ian Cook confirmed you CAN export the MXF directly to the Optical Drive:
You could also still Content Browser to drag and drop the MXF file onto the Disc.
Seeing that I can directly export to the drive from FCPX is great news.
Just one tip for FCPX / XDCAM users out there…make sure you have your stereo panning set right before export – otherwise you will end up with a mono-master.

December 11, 2014 at 9:00 pm in reply to: FCPX 10.1.4 – MXF Export & XDCAM optical deliveryThanks Jeremy.
We also have software to ensure the audio meets the -24LKFS standard.
Does the OP1a container assist in this regard or do I still need to follow that process?
Thanks.

December 11, 2014 at 8:50 pm in reply to: FCPX 10.1.4 – MXF Export & XDCAM optical deliveryThis one is for Nine.
I have submitted a ton of stuff to FOX Sports before now and no problems, but they accept straight XDCAM or ProRes files natively.
They (Nine) Also want it 4-channels of Audio:
Stereo Left
Stereo Right
M+E Left
M+E Right… and 4 MOS (Muted) tracks.
So I am assuming by creating the stems (Roles) that will be fine…and then its just about creating the Compressor Preset for 8 channels of audio as you say?
Thanks,
Dean Neal…
