I think I just figured it out. The thing is, with either this work-around or the previous suggestion using Finder, while I can preview the clip I’m unable to set in/out points and be selective within fcp x before importing. Such is life.

I do have bridge but have never used it. Is there a quick explanation of how I’d go about using it to preview my clips?

Thank you for clearing that up. I felt like I was doing something wrong for the past few days. Now I know.

So I’m unable to preview 7d clips before import? In other words I’ll always have to import the entire content of the card rather then be selective?
