I’m with you there… I went ahead and zipped it for now. Look forward to figurin out if I want to go that route, with new x versions and all as well.

I figured out in the inspector that you can very simply designate an image or layer as a drop zone…. very cool!

If you have Motion 4 and 5 on your mac… it will open Motion 5 when you open a file in motion. (You have to rename as untitled) Not sure about saving and checking back in FCP7…
I am personally gonna stick with base Studio 3 for now. Everything works very well. No need to change. Maybe when I upgrade my system…. may try it a little more; but for now, I have everything I need! It’s not worth it to me.

Guess I will agree with you on ID keys, looking at both.
I may end up trying something different for that open. I tried resizing it to HD; but could not line it up properly. It really is rather fuzzy… I like using the templates, because you can learn from them, and tweak!

Awesome, I just found the place under layout to adjust the leading….
I had to load this page in safari… Have an ad-blocker on Chrome 🙂 I see what you mean though, Here’s a fix on one of them, this what you were thinking?

The font on the majority of the gradient treated fonts is Myriad Pro – Bold, and the people identifiers is using Myriad Pro – Semi bold ItalicI could probably adjust the people identifiers a little. The reasoning for the change in colors on the backgrounds for the titles like Code Blue/Code Red is that each code has a designated color assigned, so I wanted to try and play off that a little. I am not sure what may be the best approach for the title IDs…. what about this? It matches the Burke County School logo, and uses the Myriad Pro-Bold…. you think that may work better?

Thank you!

Thanks for the input Zach. I may give some color a try with that open…. and consistancy on the font sizes.
There are a lot of title keys throughout the piece.. I am attaching a few stills. I went with a different look for these, and wondering if I may want to try and hone these down to look a little similar as well.
You saw the title key for the Sheriff. That would be design variation #2…. here’s a few of the others:
Thanks again for the feedback, very useful!!!!

I do wish there was a means of applying the filter so that after changing angles… it would retain the color correction. Working on a 55 minute performance sequence, and I have to go in and drop the filter on every newly created angle clip. Wish there was an easier way!

Hi Jim,
I have just started using my new XHA1s, and hooked up to a very similar MBP 2.33.
Any chance you could pass along some basic info? I shoot some test footage using SD16:9 @60i, and captured with no probs as 720/480 3:2 DV footage. I am a little uncertain about whether I need to check the anamorphic checkmark.
Have you shot SD? or just HD?
Thanks for any advise or input you can offer! -
I’m in the same boat, having 2 XL1s’ and an XL1. Looking closely at the XHA1s. Everything I’ve read, and researched shows me that the quality is the same on all the newer HD canon cameras, well, aside from the new XF-300/305 series. We use FCP; so I can’t even begin to give you any feedback on Premiere. FCP will handle the new format, no problem.
I really don’t like the idea of not being able to mount the camera on my shoulder, as I can with my XL1s; but there are some good shoulder mounts that may suffice. The only thing that really concerns me is the tape path issue. That was what kept my camera going to New Jersey every couple years, all head related issues. I do like having the tape backup though…. The 6 pin firewire is promising, although, I wish my ol’ firestore FS-4 HD had a solid state drive!
