i got a DBX 1066 that seems to have fixed problem once i dialed it in correctly.

So if the Compellor calls itself a compressor & limiter and a DBX unit calls itself the same does the same that doesn’t mean i don’t need both units?

yeah, not finding that Aphex Limiter available anymore…any other suggestions to pair it with the Compellor?

If both those go BEFORE the Mackie i’m still good as far as preserving effect/enhancements, correct? I need to get to RCA unbalanced to feed the fiber transmitter.

Thanks for reply.

The levels aren’t that consistent but more importantly the loudness is not what i would expect or want it to be, compared to the other channels.

I checked out the Compellor, thanks for link. The input on the fiber converter/transmitter is a dinky RCA audio, so i would have to stick the Compellor between the Rushworks A-List audio XLR out and the Mackie XLR in, which would be fine, correct?

thanks…i run Time Machine on to a seagate FreeAgent drive, so should be covered there. I just don’t know if it’s worth trouble…i shoot on EX-1 so codec is supported and everything runs smooth. Don’t see upgrading to CS6 any time soon. I just don’t like getting too far behind on system OS upgrades, either.

did you just install Snow Leopard over existing FCP7 or was it more complicated than that?

to be clear, i have FCP Studio version, so can use Compressor for renders.

so i just compose effects in Motion over video and use imported FCP clip solely as reference. Then save as a regular motion project and go back to FCP and import the motion project, or do i need to export the project in Motion to FCP?

on 1) you might need to get more detailed. So you mean to right click the keyed clip ONLY in FCP and choose Send to…Motion oroject. Then uncheck the Embed box. I did that and the clip keeps the green background, w/o key effect. I assume this was not what was intended?
