Irene, perhaps you should read-up a bit on Aces… it’s not just a post-production tool, it’s a color management standard designed to maintain color all the way through the production process, from image acquisition through post-production finishing. So, if your project was not shot with Aces you can’t simply pick up the process in post.
And, as Marc suggests, LUTs are not a substitute for proper color correction knowledge and technique – it takes time to learn the craft of the colorist, and if you think you can jump into Resolve without learning it “properly” via training and/or tutorials, you’re cruising for a bruising.

You haven’t given us the most important information from your sequence settings, i.e. the preview files codec.

Hold the Shift key down while clicking – that’s the default at least, if you’ve made changes, or are using an alternate set of keyboard commands, that might not work.

For future reference, an I/O card (or device) is a 3rd party pcie card or a device that connects via thunderbolt, etc., that allows you to connect virtually any video or audio source to your computer for input or output. For example, if you want to display video to a broadcast monitor for accurate color correction, you’d output through an I/O card or device. Or, if you want to monitor balanced audio (you’re now monitoring unbalanced (can be prone to RF interference), you’d monitor through an I/O card or device with XLR connections.

Hi David! Long time no chat…
First, the reason you see a difference on your computer monitor vs a “real” video monitor or TV is that computer monitors do not display fields, TVs and video monitors do. So, you’re seeing fields on the video monitor, and frames (both fields displayed simultaneously) in the computer monitor.
The video monitor is the more accurate representation of reality, but if your clients will only be viewing on a computer monitor then that’s the one to pay attention to.
FYI, using a deinterlace filter will indeed remove either the upper or lower field, you do get to choose in the parameter settings, but deinterlacing will remove half of the resolution as well. Given the overall quality of the video, which looks pretty funky, you’re best trying every permutation and just selecting the one that looks best on the monitor that best matches your client’s method of viewing.

Pretty tough to help you without any information about how you monitor audio on your system. We have no idea if you monitor through an I/O card or device, or whether you play audio out of your headphone jack or what? Give us some more of info and you’ll likely get helpful responses.
the future, as I’m sure you already know, don’t “fix” your editing system mid-project unless it’s really broken.

Thanks Oliver, that’s a VERY important read for those of us with older Mac Pro towers.
For those of you who don’t feel inclined to read the entire article, a hugely important thing everyone here needs to know is that with Sierra, Apple is dropping support for many of those older Macs that many in our biz have upgraded and are continuing to use. However, the author writes that in many cases installing Sierra may work just fine, st least for a while, until third party drivers cease to be available or cease to work, which he estimated be could be a year and a half to two years out, possibly.

Nick, your memory in this particular case is faulty. While you can encode to a spec in Compressor that supposedly works for Bluray, when you try to make an actual Blu-ray Disc in DVD Studio Pro will NOT create working Blurays, especially one with menus. While some people did figure out a way to make Blurays that “might” play in a set top player, as far as I know, no one ever successfully made a Bluray with a menu structure that actually worked. Walter Biscardi wrote extensively on the subject…
