[dupperware] “so, if DA3 get’s it to work, it’s a working dvd?”
Well, not exactly, and that’s not exactly where we were headed with our advice for you…
Actually, with a bit of enthusiastic enterprise on your part, and a bit of help from us DVD Cow folk, you could fairly easily understand the nuts and bolts of the DVD process, thus enabling you to use DVD Architect and actually know what’s going on underneath the hood.
Its late here now, but tomorrow I’ll help you…

[Peter Corbett] “Why can’t we ever say no?”
Three reasons why…
1) We’re artists and customers allow us to create stuff
2) the customer is always right (supposedly)
3) they pay our bills (sometimes even on time)

Robert,
Tell us more about the client and the material… If the client demands absolute perfection, and the project is mission critical, then you’ll want to dig under the hood a bit more…
BTW, someone is creating those DVDs for your client. It might as well be you. DVD Architect does a very nice job I’ve been told, and its integrated with Vegas, so you might consider learning hwo to create DVDs with it to boost your income and your value to your clients.

Hey Peter!!! I’m still using Edit 6.0 for he moment, and its still doing the trick for now. My golf clubs (except the driver) are ten years old, and I still manage to shoot in the low 70s with them too… I’m a creature of habit I guess.
Have a good winter downunder…

The only truly effective way to protect yourself is to put a watermark (semi-transparent logo or company name) on your video.

And, as Clint Eastwood once said in one of his westerns, “dying ain’t the worst thing ever happens to a man, its just the last…”

John,
Have you tried turning off the interlace flicker toggle? I think that option is for interlace flicker on animated still images.
In addition, although your key looks good, it has such hard edges that this would tend to magnify the issues you don’t like. If the keying software allows you to soften or erode the edges you will be better off I think.

James,
Everyone I know who uses ReelDVD, including me, has learned by following the tutorials at crazypants.com/~crazypan/cgi-bin/cart.cgi/stillbasics.htm
It takes a while to get REELDVD intially, but once you do you’ll understand how DVD menus actually work, and you’ll be able to easily figure out how all the other programs actually do there thing. ReelDVD may not be the most all-inclusive authoring software, but it creates DVDs that have few of the compatibility problems that seem to plague other programs.

Bob,
Wondering why, as a regular, how come you didn’t/don’t cross post this on the HDV Forum??? I think everybody over there would be pretty interested to hear this. As someone considering FCP in large part because of its touted HDV handling, I feel lucky to have stumbled upon this.

budget is Procoder 2.”I agree completely… And it does so much more too. Procoder is one of the best apps on the planet in my opinion.
