  • Bitvice vs Sorenson vs a hardware mpeg 2 encoder?

    Hello,

I would like any feedback possible as to getting the best mpeg2 encoder possible for reasonable dollars. I realize a hardware encoder will be more than software, but can you get a hardware encoder say within $1000.00 mac or pc?

As to mac mpeg 2 encoding everything I have read is that bitvice is the stuff, how does the sorenson mpeg 2 encoder in sorenson 4.1 compression suite compare to bitvice? I have sorenson 3.0 and was thinking of upgrading, but am also considering bitvice. Any thoughts?

    Thanks
    Jason

a hardware encoder that cheap will likely have issues.

your best bet for speed and quality and a reasonable
    budget is Procoder 2.

Has anyone used Heuris Mpeg Power Professional DVD software for encoding?

I agree completely… And it does so much more too. Procoder is one of the best apps on the planet in my opinion.
