Suicide might be your best bet. This is simply a horrible job. You’re probably going to have to convert all the NTSC to PAL, then cut in PAL, and convert the finished project to NTSC. Hope you have a PAL monitor…

If in fact your render files are being written to your system drive this could easily be your problem. All of your media files, including render files, need to be on drives other than your system drives. As for where render files are written and stored, like all else, this is user definable.

I don’t agree with Shane completely as HDV can be cheap and beautiful, a great combination. However, in this case you’re much better off forgetting about the timecode and simply capturing the HDV as DVCPro100.

Thats not what I would do. You’re much better off editing DVCPro100, which is an i-frame format.

The timecode is probably an issue, but at least you can capture as uncompressed DVCpro100 that way without converting in the computer.
Let me know what you end up doing…

Paul, I assumed you had component in, In either case, if you did have component inputs, or if you can route through the DVCro 100 deck, you are able to capture either 8 or 10-bit. If 10-bit was done earlier you should match that.
