I too have a large file, maybe 40G. Takes forever to render and put on DVD. I don’t know how to compress a file. Where can I look to find out more? Probably on this forum somewhere.

I’m making a video from a trip I took. I’m adding music with parts of the video. I’m sure the file is getting pretty large especially with WAV format music. If I use MP3 music, or MP4 music that will save room, which I assume helps fit the file on a DVD. Is it possible that MP3 music will not play on a regular DVD player? Addressing your last question. Why would one want to make DVD with just audio clips? Couldn’t those only be played on a DVD player?

Mike, Thanks for your response. I think there’s enough room on the harddrive. I’ve changed to an external harddrive. I’m not sure yet about the dust. I’m going to try another way to add audio… I notice that MP4 format is a lot smaller in size than wav. Can I use MP4 or will that screw up the playback on DVD players? David

Thanks for the help. I am a real neophyte. And there’s so much to learn. I’m going to look for some kind of tutorial.
