9.1 is a very old operating system now. you will not find much on the web or anywhere to support it anymore. Its wise to get OS X now. I know is may suck for some, but we are forced to move ahead or get left behind.

Blackmagic DL Extreme doesnt have input outlets for DV, only output and input for HD. Therefore using the Firewire outlet at the front of the G5. Its not the camera cause it worked before on a different machine with diff video card and older FCP.
It has to be simple, but I’ve set everything up logically on NTSC DV of DV firewire where is option available

No, the camera is connected to the front of the G5 firewire port. Blackmagic Deck Control screen says ‘no video input’. The controls – rew,ffw, play work! but no video shows. This is the same situation for the Log & Capture screen in FCP.
All settings are on NTSC. I’ve played around with using other settings but nothing works. I have print screen previews for anyone who would like to see them. I need someones email though.
I haved stopped work all together now.

Ok, so I just ordered both FCP 5 studio and TIGER. I am backingup, but should I maybe upgrade FCP 4.5 to 5 leaving panther as is for a while or the other way- Load TIger, leaving FCP 4.5 for a while?
