Turns out that the horizontal/vertical lock button was turned on. It’s the bottommost button on the left hand side of the pan/crop window

I just tested this out and here are the results…

When importing a psd with multiple layers and only one visible:
Vegas replaces the image with this message “This layered Photoshop file was not saved with a composite image”

When importing a psd with one layer and a photoshop generated background(layer was still locked):
Works perfect!

Does anyone know what a composite image is?

Kind of a dumb question but, have you tried disabling your anti virus to verify that it is the problem?
