As long they are not on a network they both can be on….If you have different versions then it will work. Don’t tell apple Steve might come over and cry your not spending enough.

In Minneapolis there are several. ADS, Duplication Factory, and Next Generation.
I use Next Gen because they are personable and they will work with you. My company has dealers price so I tend to get cheaper prices that Joe “The Plumber” would get. The other ones tend to f-UP projects time and time again.I am a FCP 6.0 user G-5

I have some price structures that seem to work. In corporate world asking 95-150 per hour is very reasonable but we lump that in a 1/2 day and full day rate. Me, Camera, Wireless, Stock is extra.
Non Profits I price differently 50-85 per hour but its again 1/2 day and full day. I work with other production companies in town under their name. they give me 2-5 gigs a week and it is pretty regular I 35-50 per day if they pay on time and they are not an ass to work for. If they are dicks I tend to ask 75 per hour 1/2 day and full day
I do agree 1/2 day and full day rates are the way to go in the corporate world.I tend to charge a little more for the 1/2 day because of the missed opportunities on the other 1/2 day.

I Log only the service in all. Everything else I log the good cuts.
Photo Session Real Good shots, End result Short montage
Wedding Service all about 1 hour each camera
receiving line all 10-30 minReception log time
Intros 1-5 min to log in
Toasts all 3-30 min to log in I did have a father of the bride talk 25 minutes If you use two cams here double it
Wedding Dances bride/groom, mother and groom,….etc. 10-30 minutes
Dances we record 10-15 dances (we edit a 3 to 5 minute music montage we show great shots of the reception).
Interviews 5-20 minutes just depends how many you get? 10-20 is a good night.
I run credits I pull shots we don’t use 1-5 hours just depends how creative.
Our total log time is 4-10 hours if we use tape. We have used the Firestore. HD is real time log time, DVCPRO 50 2/3 time, DVCPRO25/ DV 1/3 TIME30-40 hours is our limit that includes DVD Authoring
Real easy was to match camera angles is use the audio to sync up everything. Once it is synced cut back and forth. It takes us 5-10 min to sync up cams.

There goes my Firestore. The 64 and 128 will be worth every penny.
I would start saving some cash for those. I guessing 128 will be 2k
I do like my firestore. -
Yes I am shooting the wide angle on the DVX 100 with operator. I will be on the field strictly for Highlight footage. We use the wide angle to sell as recruitment footage to the players. The field camera angle is used for a year end DVD.I got 40-55 plays per game lastyear to choose from or should I say useable shots. I was planning to down convert I have FCP6.0. My audience thought last years coverage was breath taking from a DSR 170. I have also signed up 2 other high schools to cover, and we are asked to film a game of the week and this will be posted on a Recruitment web site.

All I can say is I hate them with a passion. BUT we need to do them it seems like every nine months there are a new batch of them. Look at the Knot.com or a wedding convention group.
I am in minneapolis and I belong to 2 wedding guilds I do one show a year it cost with membership and booth 1600.00 dollars add about 200 dollars for handing DVD’s out
another 200.00 for literature. I end up with 5-10 weddings from them.
This is what I do I have a DVD playingwith sound and have head phone if they want to take the time. I hand out the DVD’s and ask them to register for free and tell them they will recieve up to 10 DVD’s of the finished product. Great way to give them as Christmas gifts?
Just add something to get them to write the address. Have a convention Special and have it expire two weeks after the show. At least you’ll know they are interested. Give them a contract to fill out at home. Meet with them at their house. Once at the house talk about what they want, then after your done switch it to more personal information, just talk and forget about the contract. Create an image that your human and your life. Once your ready to go just tell them I will hold your date for one week without a contract, then you have to open it up to bidders. I have a 97% signing of contracts. I have been in the business since 1992 I walked away from 3 home and didn’t sign them. I do 15-20 weddings per year.I am a FCP 6.0 user G-5

Kennon I have a 170 and a 150 I am a sony man all the way until Panasonic made the HVX-200. Now I have That as well. Weddings,”Low Light” Stuff 170 all the way. The reason I bought the 170 is to have some security if for some reason I get retarted and drop the camera it won’t shatter. I have shot small corporate stuff, Weddings and Sports and all I can say WORK HORSE! You gotta think of the future before you buy. What are you going to upgrade to then buy that lowered version. This will allow you to match cameras. I did struggle with the HDV version of Sony it would have been to easy to buy that but I really liked the vision Panasonic has with the P2 Technology. So the Panasonic 100b is not a bad buy either. My next goal is HPX 500…
