Still waiting for the Mac version. Not going to completely replace Motion, as it is good for quick and easy stuff. Mainly interested in the particle system (looks awesome), doing some green screen stuff and processing stills. Hoping it will integrate nicely with Resolve, want to work out timing and ship to Fusion for the more complex stuff.

Would love to have a Red camera but out of my price range. Kind of interested in the Digital Bolex at the moment.

Fusion, when it is available for Mac OS X, until then current version of FCP X, Motion, Compressor and Resolve.
Plan to purchase some more products from Rampant Design Tools, so far film effects, bokeh and some light effects. They were having a year end sale, so decided to purchase a film effects package for $100 USD, not bad, all in 2K resolution.
Currently subscribed to Red Giant Universe on monthly plan but plan to upgrade to lifetime membership. Plan on adding Boris Continuum Complete 9 to the lineup, mainly for Resolve.
Just ordered a T 1.5 85mm Rokinon lens of EF mount variety from B&H, should be here early next week. Ready to give it a try. From there, going to get some more prime lenses, on the fence for a zoom lens at the moment.
In the mean time, going to build some custom generators and effects. Soon as I get the lens set, going to jump into stop motion!
Last but not least, as soon as budget allows a new Mac Pro with lots of thunderbolt storage, most likely going with a G Raid or Studio option.

Is it possible to use Resolve in place of X to 7 or not?

Blackmagic Cinema Camera and soon to get Rokinon lens. By the way, how easy is it to learn Mint? Also, is it more like Windows or Mac OS X? Been thinking about going over to Linux for Resolve, might get better playback but not sure. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

That makes sense. Honestly, some editing features could have been added but a stand-alone NLE would be a better choice. Things could change in the next version, I hope.

I don’t think so, I see the same thing on my late 2012 iMac. It’s seems like audio is the issue, video only sequences play back fine…”
Hopefully they can get this issue “resolved” in the next version, pardon the pun. I still like X, and have no intentions of replacing it anytime soon.

I would love to use Resolve for editing as well but choppy playback is a negative. In other words playback is not in realtime. I have a mid 2012 Mac Pro so this could be an issue? The other reason I am sticking with FCP X, at least for now, is the ability to create custom generators, effects, titles, and transitions in Motion. I am interested in seeing how Resolve develops and how it integrates with Fusion when it becomes available for the Mac platform.

Was looking at getting Pro Cut X for the iPad from a company called Pixel Film Studios. Available in the App Store but I know nothing about this company. Was hoping that Apple would have something.

Been curious to what others think about doing a rough cut in Resolve then sending the edit over to FCP X and another program for dealing with audio. Resolve has much better keyframing and trimming, which has me thinking in this direction. Will be interesting to see what BMD has up their sleeves, especially with Fusion over the short term.
