I do not see a trackless timeline as a bike with training wheels nor do I see a timeline with tracks has training wheels either. Going back to tracks will not require my brain going crazy. Sure there will be a couple of extra steps but not that complicated. I actually like the style that X uses, gets out of your way allowing for more efficient editing with less time concetrating on track assignments. Not saying tracks are bad, just a different approach. Just my two cents, carry on!

Admit it, you are starting to like tracks! 😉

Joking aside, I am in complete agreement with X being in a league of its own. The timeline and organizing tools are just the tip of the iceberg. My only reel beef is with keyframing, something that Resolve is much better at. Trimming is nice there as well. Where our friend X shines is custom transitions, generators and other such icing filled with flavor on the cake, done in Motion is just sheer super duper awesome.

I just been reading some comments on the BMD website, and so far the indication is that XII is a huge improvement over the current version. Perhaps we will get realtime performance in the edit page. It looks like there is serious competition about!

This eager beaver wants to get his paws on it. That with Fusion.

Impressed here as well. Might just bail the FCP X ship and avoid Premiere Pro subscription.

  • Reminds me of when I tried to dump AOL, swore I was going to have a full blown panic attack before I cancelled my account with them.

Why is it necessary to contact customer support to cancel your subscription? I mean people like Red Giant make it easy to exit out. No questions asked and only a few simple clicks to do so, very much I like. I remember when customers and employees came first, not so sure about that now. At least from what I have seen.

Just to end this post on a positive note, a corny joke:

Question: So what does a robot like for a snack?

Answer: Why he likes assorted nuts!

I hope this is fixed in the new version due out soon, whatever that means. Should the new version hold up to its promise I might start doing an entire project in Resolve. Of course I still like the Motion workflow for custom lower thirds, titles, and transitions. Doubt we will see anything like that from Fusion, would be a nice feature to have. Resolve tempts me, teases me and sometimes likes to torture me. 😉

Is the box for “Automatically import source clips into media pool” selected? If so, this might be why Resolve is linking the proxies and not the RAW files.

Windows belong on a house, not a computer! 😉

I am wishing for a Fusion forum as well. Just waiting, patiently, for the OS X version to be available. Please be this week! Also waiting for Resolve 12, looks very promising. One thing to add to the wish list and that would be for BMD to come up with an alternative to Photoshop. 🙂
