Is there a dedicated forum on Eyeon Fusion?

No there is not a dedicated forum for fusion that I know of at the cow. Perhaps you can start one. It may now do better than earlier attempts which quickly died. At any rate it would be better than whatever BMD offers as a forum and since the folks at established sites will mildly tolerate newbies there must be a need to feed the new free version users.

I’m quite surprised that there is no dedicated Fusion forum on the Cow,considering it’s ww audience. In the other hand I understand it.
True that Fusion CEOs did a big big mistake in the past not building a Mac version and we all know that everybody went to Nuke,
but it is still widely used (I guess each time more)and many “Nuke boys” I know here love it and would like to work again with it.

I have the feeling that as you said, if there is not enough audience in the Cow, starting a new Fusion forum would quickly die like others did.

Actually having spoken with him a few times, yes he did answer the phone all by himself. I received the impression from him that the win / linux platform users were less trouble. Sales were generally to larger production budgets resulting in a comfortable living. No I don’t think not parsing to Mac was a mistake, I believe that was a lifestyle choice. Now that Fusion has been parsed for Mac, there will be a crop of new users. Perhaps a resurrection of a forum is in order.

In big budget productions, the Mac factor is irrelevant, and specially
In fx.
My memory may fool me in the sense that I remember that
There was a time when Nuke took-off very fast and fusion started
To decline and the Foundry became the industry standart. But
There were really no technical reasons for that (again if my memory
Does not distort facts) in the sense that both platforms were
Extremely capables. I personaly think that Fusion is better implemented
But that’s very relative to each user. So I thought that the
Extremely fast Nuke take-off was due to the fact that Eyeon
Ignored Mac. It may have been the case in the middle-low prod
Budgets but as you pointed, not in big productions.
I am not and never has been a Mac fan. My background is Avid,
Nuke and Lightworks and I rediscovered fusion a few weeks ago
And just loved it. As I alsp switched to LW because I was pissed
avid destroyed DS, and for other reasons too, Fusion is a natural choice.

Nuke inherited all the SHAKE users, after Apple killed it. Was a natural move since the founder of Shake went to work for Foundry, once he could shake loose from the Apple tree.

I am wishing for a Fusion forum as well. Just waiting, patiently, for the OS X version to be available. Please be this week! Also waiting for Resolve 12, looks very promising. One thing to add to the wish list and that would be for BMD to come up with an alternative to Photoshop. 🙂
