I think this is the best update to Resolve that I haver seen! I was hoping for a role based approach not tracks. Improvements to tne node graph are very nice and able to track lens flares. Even releasing a new update at NAB is awseome.

Weird thing that happened was that I was thinking when the Automatic Duck announcement was made was, “It would sure be nice if there was integration between Resolve and Fusion, would love to see that!” Well so it came to be, just got an e-mail just a few minutes later. Well by thunder this looks like it could be an alternative to the Adobe parade. Time will tell and was happy to download the beta today.

Apple, where is the update for your editing software?

Not sure Resolve being an editor just yet but looks like it is getting closer to be a finishing tool. The reason I am sticking with Final Cut for editing is roles which allows me to output several versions of the same timeline. Can choose what gets exported into a baked movie. Hoping that something similar will make it’s way over to Resolve in another update. Overall, very impressed by what I see.

Which is why X makes sense to me. They did add lens fares so JJ Abrams should be happy. 🙂

They just released version 12.5 in beta. There is now a coonection between Resolve and Fusion which is one nice feature. Several other nice features are included. Have not seen any announcements on a new version of Fusion at the moment. Kudos to Grant and the team!

  • Breaks into happy dance cow style! What is the cost? I did not see a price mentioned.

  • I wish heavens to Betsie that software makers focus on making improvements under the hood. The latest feature (fad) is of zero use to me when realtime performance is not addressed or there is, at best, some clunk interface to deal with. I tried Boris Red but that interface is killing me. Apple got it rignt with X though keyboard shortcuts to change workspace would be nice. It gets out of my way and lets me work so much better. Then again, to each their own.

Could it be Sppedgrade is no more? An impressive list but what does Apple have in store?

If it were subscription only I would be interested. 😉

Just kidding of course and I will be making a purchase. Kudos to Simon and the team! Now if someone could come up with a node based color correction plugin. I loathe round tripping.

I turned it off so it was human error.
