Probably one of the most useful features. What of your thoughts of using Fusion as part of finishing? I am by no means a compositor as I lack the skills necessary.

What do they mean by final release?

That was probably a concern for many. At least we do know Blackmagic does listen.

I doubt that Apple would go that direction. Of course that could change. The reason behind my thinking id that Apple sells hardware as dows Blackmagic so there should be no reason for Final Cut to go subscription only. Most of the profits are linked to hardware rather then software. This is how Blackmagic can afford to offer low cost software. Besides there is the hardware support. In the event Apple does go subscription only I might jump over to Resolve for nearly all my post production needs depending on the subscription model.
Adobe had to go subscription only due to many factors. The big one (at least for me) was many people were not upgrading every product cycle. The other reasons because of Sox in addition to the fact Adobe does not sell hardware. Could we see Adobe offering their subscription plan in the App Store at some point? Perhaps other third party apps could be offered there as well. That would make keeping up with subscriptions much easier and probably help other developers reach a wider audience. We have to wait and see.
While this looks nice there is always that one thing we don’t know about.

Kudos to the team for a nice update! They just updated Fusion as well and they came out with Fusion Connect for Avid users.

I was thinking now that this is June if another update is around the corner. I don’t read leaves, palms or look into a crystal ball. I just lack the psychic power.

I am using Photos at the moment. I do create albums and put photos into one them. I then go into Final Cut Pro then go to the photos browser. The keywords are added in Photos but unlike finder tags they don’t transfer over. The reason for this approach is so I can manage where the photos go on an external drive should I need to hand off my work to another editor. I keep all the source files outside of the library and consolidate into a single folder. Typically an event is created for the photos and I drag the album folder into the event. This way I don’t have to go through a bunch of folders on tne finder level. I may upload a video of what I am doing.

I hope Final Cut Pro does not get this look. Trying to edit or even color correct on a white background would be a nightmare to say the least. Tim, please splash some color around!
