I didn’t come to that conclusion at all. He states that they wanted to add a lot of features that FCP editors were requesting. That’s far different from copying, unless you think that FCP copied features from early versions of Premiere (not Pro) when it was designed at Macromedia.”
I had the same impression. I don’t think Adobe has anything to worry about here 😉

LOL, Have you looked at Sony Vegas? It *really* looks like Windows ’95. I think Premiere and Avid look fine.

It sounds like you must be using Windows because on Mac OS 10.8, the fonts on MC look just fine. They seem to be anti-aliased and are clean, clear and easy to read.
You realize that Avid’s fonts are *completely* user-customizable?
If you don’t like the way the default fonts look on your system, try changing them to something that works better on your system. There are many Mac and PC fonts specifically optimized for non-antialiased, bit-mapped displays that look fantastic.
Seriously, have you looked at Vegas? It *really* looks like Windows ’95.
