Because Roger Ebert got a mention, we should also note the passing of one of the great documentary filmmakers.
Les Blank passed away at 77 years of age. He influence a whole generation of documentary filmmakers. He also made one of the greatest movies about movie-making: “The Burden of Dreams.”
