For downconverting mxf HD to SD you may want to check out DVFilm Maker. In it’s advanced options you can downres to any size you choose. It also allows you to batch process clips. There is a free demo for you to try out. Plus 25% off for xmas.

For easy conversion of mxf files you may want to check out DVfilm Rayilght, if you are a PC user. DVfilm Raylight for Mac if you are a mac user. Raylight for mac creates .mov reference files that can be imported into any software that will accept .mov.

You may also want to check out DVfilm Atlantis. It converts from NTSC to Pal and from Pal to NTSC.

For converting Pal to NTSC you may want to try the demo of DVfilm Atlantis. It will convert Pal to NTSC and NTSC to Pal.

To make 23.98 into 29.97 you simple need to add a pulldown to your mxf files. You may want to check out DVfilm Raylight MXFX. You can use this to add pulldown to your unprocessed .mxf files. You can also use it to rotate, resize, and noise reduction.

To convert NTSC HDV to Pal DV you could convert the NTSC to 720×480 with AE and than use DVfilm Atlantis to convert it to PAL. If you want to do the entire process with AE you could interpret footage at 25fps in a 720 x 480 composition. This will convert your video. You will than have to speed up the audio by 4% in your editing software.

Decoder will enable you to read dvcpro50 and dvcprohd. If you need to render out to these formats you will need Raylight Encoder Pro.
