Not sure if this helps, but I’ve just noticed that DVD Architect “sees” exactly 1/2 of the rendered video i.e the full rendered file plays for 1 hour 1 minute 38 seconds in Windows Media Player, and DVD Architect plays exactly 30 minutes and 49 seconds of it, and then goes back to the start menu.

Are you saying that I should try the 32bit version of Vidcap60? I’ve tried a couple of other 32bit capture programs (AVS Recorder, Debut Video Capture – none of them will capture a DV stream.

I’ve also tried running VidCap60 in all the compatibility modes that are available with Windows7 – no luck with any of them…

    thanks,
    David

    G’day Bob
I don’t know if this helps, but I had the same problem when I was using Vegas 7 until I got rid of the cheap tapes I was using in my Sony HDR-HC1E. Once I started using the high quality Sony tapes, the problem went away.

    Hi Justin
I had exactly the same thing with Vegas 7 – red sections on the timeline. I discovered that the problem was related to the cheap tapes I was using, causing dropouts – I ditched the cheap tapes and bought the high quality Sony tapes (my cam was a HVR-HC1E at the time) and it solved the problem.
