Great to know but not at all surprising because M100 is under the very best of care. I will be upgrading to HD Suite once it is ready to work with the MacPros so I am looking forward to it.

Glucose, the brain only runs on glucose.

As for SDI vs Analogue, you have probably made up your mind by now and that is great, but if I had SDI out from my M100, I would be using that, no question, but I would run a quick test recording onto my DB deck first. I would not expect to find any problems though.

Hope your project works/worked out perfectly.

    Hi,

Maybe you have got your M100 going thanks to Floh, but if after upgrading to 8.2.3 you still cannot open M100 and you have the encryption in order, maybe a repair disc permissions might be in order.

I have had to run it on just a few occasions, usually after a particularly nasty computer crash and it is not at all common so it may or may not apply to your situation.

I run Dual 2.0Ghz, 4Gb RAM, 10.3.9 and M100 8.2.2 for coming up to 3 years (but I am a 12 year M100 veteran and will be upgrading to HD Suite very soon)

November 30, 2006 at 11:04 pm in reply to: Problem with Digitizing VHS

I have M100 8.2.2 and almost everyday digitize VHS into it. My setup is:
JVC S-VHS/VHS recorder, Time Base Corrector, Canopus ADVC 100 and finally to DV input of M100.

Even without DV input, TBC is pretty much essential for any untime base corrected video into the composite or S-Video inputs such as VHS V8 or Betamax etc.

I do not have any problems with VHS digitising.

    Hope this helps you.

    Thanks very much Walter.

As for the Pro, no wonder my supplier doesn’t have pricing for it. Now I know why as he went away to check but never came back to me. Oh well, my HD purchase time line is not until around Jan/Feb 07 anyway so the Pro might be available then.

I read about your misfortune with 2 (i think you mentioned 2) Mediavault units failing in quick succession.

All the best with the Caldigit unit.
